The Visitor Centre and the grounds are open 7 days a week 9am to 4pm (closed between Christmas and New Year & some public holidays)
Cafe open 10am to 2pm
Hunter Wetlands Centre is open to visitors in accordance with the NSW Government Roadmap to Freedom.
Whilst masks are optional, we appreciate your decision to wear one in the Visitor Centre.
Social distancing should be practised at all times.
STAYING SAFE
Please help us keep visitors and our volunteers safe and stop the spread of COVID 19 by:
- social distancing
- maintaining good hand hygiene
- staying at home if you have cold/flu symptoms or are feeling unwell
PLEASE BE AWARE:
Hand sanitising and cleaning is only available in the Visitor Centre and at the playground toilet. Elsewhere on site, including the children’s playground, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR your own and your child/children’s health and hand hygiene.
Our volunteers are doing their best to follow the ever-changing COVID 19 regulations to keep us all safe. Please give them your support.
EVENT COVID SAFE PLAN
Hunter Wetlands Centre is a registered COVID Safe Business and a COVID Safety Plan is developed for all events. Volunteers will monitor the number of visitors and you may be asked to wait or return later if a particular activity is attracting too many people.
Visitors are asked to take responsibility for social distancing and for their own and their children’s hand hygiene. Soap and water will be available at all toilet facilities and hand sanitiser located near all activities.
Visitors are responsible for having their ticket/s available on their phone or printed out, clearly visible, for checking at the gate on arrival.
Visitors agree to abide by all physical distancing, health protocols and the Wetlands’s COVID Safe plan
Visitors agree to follow the instructions of Wetlands Volunteers at all times
If visitors do not comply with protocols, or authorised requests, they will be asked to leave immediately without refund or further recourse
Cancellation Policy
Visitors must not attend if they are sick. You will be entitled to a full refund if you advise us by email office@wetlands.org.au by 10.00am on the day of the event.
A full refund will be given if HWCA cancels the event for any reason including but not limited to: heavy rain and/or strong wind making the site unsafe; a COVID hotspot is declared in the Newcastle/Lake Macquarie/Hunter region;
NSW Health restrictions change restriction outdoor gatherings.
