Operating since 1985, Hunter Wetlands Centre Australia is recognised as a hub of leading practice in wetlands conservation, education and management.
We provide a unique, accessible and sustainable wetlands knowledge, sharing understanding and experience of the changing nature of wetlands with schools, community groups and local, regional and international visitors.
Hunter Wetlands Centre is listed as internationally important under the Ramsar Convention.
As Australia’s first community-owned Wetlands Centre, we are managed by an engaged Board of Directors with broad expertise, a weekly volunteer workforce of around 120 and a community membership base of around 600.
We would love to include your logo or business name on as much of our event collateral as possible. Think t-shirts, banners, signage, newsletters, print and web ads, radio spots, tweets, Facebook posts, press releases, billboards, invites, landing pages and email campaigns. The placement and frequency of your logo is dependant on the agreement with Hunter Wetlands Centre.
We are proud to recognise the wide range of sponsors contributing to the Hunter Wetlands Centre. Whether the contribution is an in-kind offering of services, a small one-off financial contribution, or a long term investment at the Wetlands, we value and recognise each and every sponsor.
With over 2500 visitors per month, from Newcastle, Sydney and the world, our website is a potential hotspot for sponsorship recognition. The average time spent exploring our site is 2m 19s with visitors viewing around 5 pages each. This demonstrates an interesting website, and an engaged digital audience.

Current Event - Evolving Wetlands
Evolving Wetlands is an interactive, indoor and outdoor exhibition that invites a diverse range of community members to experience the past in the present. Over the July school holidays, Hunter Wetlands Centre will host a unique collection of prehistoric fossils, skeletons and dinosaur memorabilia from local palaeontologist Michael Dawson, with a focus on the Wetlands environment.
We will include additional activities such as a Dino Hunt (find the dinosaurs throughout the Wetlands), Dino Dung (create seed bombs to take home) and live reptile demonstrations. Plus our Cafe will be featuring dino-themed meals!
We will be open to the general public and offer guided tours and activities for children.
Our target market includes family groups, students, people with a disability, tourists and interested residents.
