40th Anniversary Canoe Adventure Day

We're making a splash and celebrating our 40th anniversary from the water with on our Canoe Adventure Day!

Canoeing will be FREE All Day!!

This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the wetlands from the water. Here's what you can look forward to:

* Hire a Canoe and complete the Self-Guided Boatmans Creek Challenge/

* Join a Guided Canoe Tour of Ironbark Creek and discover the history, flora and fauna of the Hunter Estuary.

* Enjoy onshore activities including Guided Walks, Talks and Games along the riverside.

Our Canoeing is open to all abilities and anyone over the age of 5. It's a great way for kids to learn how to canoe and kayak! Children under 10 must be in a canoe with an adult and all children under 16 must be supervised by an adult. Lifejackets are provided and must be worn at all times.


Bookings & Information

Canoeing is FREE all day but spots are limited. Site entry is still payable.
Canoe Hire

* All canoe hire will be out of the Canoe Shed at Boatmans Creek.

* Canoe hire will be limited to 1hr maximum

* First Hire will be 9.30am | Last Hire will be 1.30pm

* 2 and 3 person canoes available for hire.

* Hire Bookings are not required. Canoes will be regularly returning to the boatshed for re-hire, however if you prefer to reserve a canoe for a specific time (1hr max) contact us on canoes@wetlands.org.au

Canoe Tours

* There will be multiple tours available on the day: 9.30am 11.30am and 1.30pm

* Canoe tours will be approximately 1 hour duration.

* All canoe tours will be departing from the Rainforest Shelter (walk or get a lift in one of our buggies).
